THE FUTURE is looking bright for budding superstar Hollie Barrie- despite losing her place in The Voice.

Last night, viewers watched the dog-walker-turned-singer belt out Aretha Franklin and The Eurythmics hit Sisters Are Doing It For Themselves as she battled against singing teacher Sheena McHugh for her place in the talent contest.

Despite Hollie, from Ramsden Bellhouse, flying home from Grenada just hours after marrying husband Mike, 38, to compete in the battle round, mentor Will.i.am chose to keep Sheena.

The episode was filmed four months ago, and was aired on Saturday as Hollie celebrated her 31st birthday.

Despite being kicked out of her voice, she still has her eyes firmly set on a career in the music industry.

Hollie said: "I have already been in touch with quite a few different management companies who are interested in working with me.

"The one thing I realised from The Voice is I loved doing the pieces to camera, so I would like to do some presenting work in the future. I hope from doing this show people have seen the real me.

"It's not like I'm 16, I have been doing music for a long time. When I walked on the stage with Sheena in the battle round, I just thought I am really going to enjoy myself here.

"I'm a very positive person, and I'm looking at this whole experience as something amazing to tell my children and grandchildren about in the future. It's a great stepping stone."

Hollie was born in Rochford and briefly lived in Wales, where she completed a Princes Trust music music.

She is no stranger to performing, and at the age of just 18 performed for Prince Charles.

Now she is out of the The Voice, Hollie is backing fellow Essex girl Brooklyn Lammiman, 19.

The teenager, from Basildon, who is pals with Towie stars Amy Childs and Harry Derbidge, has made it through to the live shows after winning her battle round last week with her version of Guns ‘n’ Roses hit Paradise City.

Hollie said: "She is such a lovely, genuine person and we just got on so well from the moment we meant. She's a very spiritual person and we've got loads in common because we're both from Essex.

"We've kept in touch and I'm really looking forward to seeing how far she gets."
