A teenage insurance broker has been charged with stealing a car which ended up on a railway line in Stanford-le-Hope.
Jordan Walsh, 18, is accused of driving without due care and attention, aggravated vehicle taking, driving without a licence and without third party insurance.
A silver Ford Fiesta smashed through a chain link fence in Walton's Hall Road at about 9.30pm on Monday and became stuck on the c2c rail line.
Train services were suspended for more than three hours between Pitsea and Grays before the vehicle was removed from the tracks.
Walsh has been bailed to appear before Basildon Magistrates Court on Thursday, April 2.
