MOTORISTS in Rayleigh face delays following two crashes during rush hour.

Crashes on the A127 Londonbound between the Fairglen Interchange and Rayleigh Weir brought traffic to a standstill shortly after 9am.

Both accidents were cleared shortly before 11.30am.

An accident involving two cars and a van just prior to the A1245 Fairglen Interchange blocked part of the carriageway.

Paramedics were called to the scene at 9.15am and treated a woman in her forties for back injuries.

A second accident on the A127 between Fairglen and Rayleigh Weir involving a car and a lorry has also been cleared.

Long delays remain on the A127 Londonbound with queues back to Daws Heath Road.

Traffic is also queuing northbound on the A129 from the A127 to Rayleigh town centre.
