GLOBE Pub Company, the investment vehicle owned by Iranian property tycoon Robert Tchenguiz, has bought 18 Scottish pubs from Dundee FC director Jimmy Marr, right, for an undisclosed sum. The pubs will be run by Scottish & Newcastle Pub Enterprises, extending S&NPE's portfolio north of the border to about 180. The pubs are a mixture of community and sportsbrand pubs based mainly in the Dundee area. S&N received a significant boost to its pubs empire last year by unveiling a deal to manage 364 sites, including 250 neighbourhood pubs, which were sold by Spirit to Globe. Ken McGown, S&NPE operations and sales director for Scotland, said the deal formed part of an active drive by the company to target a more diverse range of pubs.
