THE Scottish Office Agriculture Department has started making payments
of the first advance of ewe premium worth #4.51 per eligible sheep.
Farmers in the Less Favoured Areas will also receive a special
supplement of #4.37 per ewe.
Payments totalling #29.2m were issued yesterday to more than 15,000
Scottish sheep producers. The remainder of claimants will be paid as
soon as possible.
