PARENTS will learn today if one of Scotland's main secondary schools

is to opt out of local authority control.

About 1600 parents were eligible to vote in the ballot at Paisley

Grammar. The campaign to persuade parents of the merits and demerits of

the plan made it one of the most divisive opt-out ballots in Scotland.

The polls closed yesterday.

The result will be announced by Electoral Reform Society.
