MADJID BOUGHERRA today admitted he's racing against the crock to be fit for Rangers massive clash against Hearts at Ibrox tomorrow.

Bougherra missed his side's Co-operative Insurance Cup final defeat to Celtic at Hampden last Sunday with the calf strain he picked up against Hamilton Accies on March 8.

And the Algerian centre half confirmed he is still doubtful for the SPL meeting with the third-placed Jambos.

With Celtic playing Dundee United at Tannadice on Sunday, Walter Smith's men can go to the top of the table on goal difference if they beat their capital rivals.

But Bougherra said: "I don't know if I am going to make it. We will have to see in the morning. I am hopeful I will be fit, but perhaps I will have to wait for the next game."

Kirk Broadfoot, who played at centre half in the absence of Bougherra against the Hoops on Sunday, also faces a late fitness test but is expected to be fit.
