AN OUTDOOR furniture store has raised nearly £2,700 to help children with life-threatening conditions.

Online business White Stores, based in Fulmar Way, Wickford, donated 10 per cent of all sales sold during Garden Re-Leaf Day, which took place on Friday to Greenfingers charity.

The event came as White Stores, set up by young entrepreneur James Whiteley in 2006, when he was just 20, opened its first garden centre reail concession in Oxfordshire.

Mr Whitley said: “We are thrilled to have raised this money for such a great cause. But none of this would have been possible without the generosity of our customers.

“White Stores more than doubled our normal day’s sales on Garden Re-Leaf Day this year. Many shoppers told us they specifically decided to buy their garden furniture from us, rather than another retailer, after our staff had mentioned Greenfingers.”

The charity create magical gardens at children’s hospices throughout the UK.
