FIREFIGHTERS were called to a blaze at a house in Southend this morning.
Two crews from Southend fire station were called to the property in North Avenue at around 8.20am.
Firefighters reported the first floor bedroom was well alight and the rest of the house was smoke logged
The road was blocked off by fire engines as firefighters tackled the flames.
Crews wore breathing apparatus and used two hose reel jets to extinguish the fire by 9.55am.
