HE’S sold more than 30 million records, starred in Hollywood movies and changed his names more times than Prince.

And Snoop Dogg has now confirmed he is looking forward to his visit to Southend on May 22.

The megastar tweeted details of his gig at Talk nightclub to his 12 million followers writing: “UK! Catch me DJ Snoopadelic live @Talk_Nightclub S/o to my playa ponto.”

“Yes he is coming” said manager Tom Gowans of the club in Lucy Road.

“Snoop Dogg will be doing an exclusive two hour DJ set, including MCing and rapping, under his DJ name, DJ Snoopadelic, on Friday May 22.”

Tickets for the night go on sale at 10am on Tuesday, April 7. The price of the first released batch is £20.

Mr Gowan said: “Myself and the promotions manager of Talk, Wayne Spear, have been looking at what we think this town needs. We feel the night economy is not doing as well as it could and we want to book acts which will put Southend on the map.

“We are happy to have secured whowe think is one of the best artists in the world to come to the club, and we believe people will be coming from far and wide to Southend, to see him.

“The first release of tickets are set at £20 – a good price – and we don’t want to be greedy and put it up much more than this on a second release.”

Mr Gowan added that he plans to bring more big names to Talk nightclub and does have a number of exciting acts in the pipeline, although he is not allowed to say who they are yet.

The capacity of the nightclub is 1,800.
