Where's the Art Ministry? Here's a pointer!

A 14-YEAR-OLD charity is finally on the map.

The Art Ministry, which uses art to reach out to the community, now has a road sign telling visitors where classes are held.

The sign, at the back of the Iceland supermarket in Church Road, Hadleigh, points to the charity's facility.

Founder and director, the Rev Angela Cotton, said: "Although the Art Ministry has been operating here in Hadleigh for 14 years, there has been little public awareness of where we are - up until now.

"This sign will definitely help us in our bid to raise our profile."

The charity, funded by public donations, has helped handicapped, bereaved, disadvantaged and blind people.

At the end of January, manager Peggy-Jane Smith organised fundraising days outside Morrisons supermarket, Hadleigh.

She said: "It was surprising to see how many shoppers, who gave most generously, had never heard of the Art Ministry or didn't even know where it was."
