Last year's St George's Day Service and parade in Southend
VOLUNTEERS and community groups in Basildon will be hosting their own St George’s Day themed events this Thursday.
Basildon Council has donated "party in a box" kits - packed with party supplies including flags, bunting, and red and white hats - to 50 worthy causes.
There will be various activities taking place in Basildon, Wickford and Billericay, at preschools, day centres, community centres and schools.
The Towngate Theatre Café Bar, in St Martin’s Square will also be offering its customers a special St George’s Day menu, which is available until Friday.
Other people holding St George’s day events will be urged to share their pictures on Facebook and Twitter.
