RUNNERS are invited to cross almost a kilometre of thick Thames Estuary mud to raise money for a hospice.
Havens Hospices’ Island to Island Mud Runwill take place in Leigh on Sunday, June 7.
Participants will attempt to run across the mudflats from Bell Wharf, in Old Leigh, to Two Tree Island, and back again. The full route is 900m and is for over 16s only. There will also be a 400m route for families The fundraiser is usually held in Thorpe Bay, but has been moved, as the old course was proving too difficult.
