A CAR was set alight in woods near the Fairglen Interchange.
Two fire crews from Rayleigh Weir were called to the woods off Fane Road at about 9.30pm last night by nearby residents where a car only identifiable as a Peugeot was found to be well alight down a dirt track.
Due to the location of the car, the crews took about half an hour to get to it, and two firefighters wearing breathing apparatus extinguished the flames within about 15 minutes by extending a hose reel from 100 metres away.
Crews left the scene at about 10.15pm and reported the incident to the police.
