Man in court over Basildon burglary
A MAN has appeared in court, accused of burglary.
Matthew Cook, 33, of Clayburn Circle, Basildon is charged with burgling a house in Church Road, Basildon on May 27.
Cops swooped in and arrested him within hours of the break-in.
He was charged and kept overnight to appear at Basildon Magistrates’ Court on Friday.
Cook did not enter a plea to the charges when he appeared in front of the magistrate.
He was denied bail.
Cook will next appear at Basildon Crown Court for a plea and case management hearing on a date and time to be fixed by the court service.
