FOUR people including two children were taken to hospital following a crash between a school bus and a car in Linford this afternoon.

The accident, which happened just after 3pm, involved a double decker bus with 15 St Clere’s pupils onboard.

An ambulance spokeswoman no injuries were thought to be serious adding the children suffered shoulder and back pain, with the adults, thought to be the two drivers, suffering from neck and back pain.

All have been taken to Basildon Hospital as a precaution and were not in a life threatening condition.

The remaining students were transported home by school minibuses.

The incident has partially blocked Walton’s Hall Road in both directions.

School head teacher Mrs Ashlie Hughes said: “I’d like to thank the quick and professional response from the emergency services, Thurrock Council officers and staff at St Clere’s School.

“Thankfully, all pupils and drivers of both vehicles appear to be okay – albeit a little shaken.”
