A MAN has been charged with a number of offences after a police chase through Benfleet.
Conall Regan, 20, of Thames Road, Canvey, was arrested after officers tracked his car from Hadleigh to Benfleet on Monday.
The search involved armed officers, the force helicopter, the dog unit, local officers and the road policing unit.
Regan was charged this morning with obstructing a constable in the execution of their duty, possession of a Class B drug, assault causing actual bodily harm, and failing to answer to bail.
He is due to appear at Chelmsford Magistrates’ Court on Thursday, August 6.
A 20-year-old man from London was also arrested on suspicion of possession of drugs with intent to supply, dangerous driving and failing to stop when directed.
He was released on police bail until Thursday, September 10, pending further enquiries.
