SKY customers across Southend and Rochford have been left without broadband following a fault.

The company informed customers its Sky Fibre Broadband system was experiencing problems in Southend, Shoebury, Thorpe Bay, Leigh, Rochford, Great Wakering and Canewdon at 8.46am.

Since that time numerous customers have complained about being unable to access the internet at all – apparently not for the first time.

Carl Doherty (@shelf_abuse) tweeted: “Sky broadband down in Southend and Leigh. Again. Still, it's not like I need it to do my job. Oh wait. Argh.”

Neil Monnery (@neilmonnery) added: “Ah so the Sky Broadband and Fibre optic outage in Southend has been caused by yet another Fibre Optic break. This is getting stupid.”
