GRAFFITI yobs have targeted a parade of shops in Basildon.

Ravi Singh, 26, owner of the Spar store, and Ian Davis, 25, manager of the fish and chip shop, both at the Kipcabs shops, in The Knares, Basildon, are both angry at the damage.

Mr Singh said: “Graffiti has been sprayed on my shop shutters and also on houses, the dentist and council buildings.

“The council came down and cleaned it off the council buildings, but they haven’t cleaned it off the other buildings.

“It makes me feel upset, more than angry, that someone could do that to someone else."

Mr Davis has been the manger of the shop for around six years.

He said: “Three out of the five shops in the parade have been targeted and so has dentist. It is random, I haven’t known of problems with graffiti in the area before.

“It is a nice area despite the Basildon reputation. I was shocked when I came to work and saw the graffiti.

We don’t have problems with youths in the area.”
