POLICE are looking for this man in connection with a knifepoint robbery.

Officers investigating the robbery in Rayleigh have issued CCTV of a man they would like to identify.

A 27-year-old local woman was robbed at knifepoint as she walked along an alleyway between The Approach and Glebe Drive at around 10.20pm on Thursday, July 9. She was approached from behind by a man who demanded money. She handed over her loose change.

The man police would like to identify is believed to have been travelling on the train between Southend and Rayleigh at around 10pm on the night of the robbery.

A 31-year-old man from Rayleigh was arrested shortly after the incident on suspicion of robbery and possession of an offensive weapon.

He has been released on bail pending further inquiries until Saturday, October 17.
