RESIDENTS turned out in force to give their views about a proposed 24-home development in Wickford.
They filled in comment cards on plans for homes off Radwinter Avenue at an exhibition by developer Keepmoat Homes.
David Harrison, Ukip councillor for Wickford Park, welcomed the strong turnout and said the area should be untouched.
He said: “There were about 40 residents there leaving comments, and the general feeling was that the site is inappropriate.
“That area has been flooded twice this year, and would have four new access points on Radwinter Avenue.
There is already a large volume of traffic using the road and this would only get worse”
The developer acquired the land from Basildon Council. A council spokesman said: “The council agreed to dispose of the land at Radwinter Avenue to Keepmoat Homes, subject to planning.”
