REFURBISHED toilets have opened at Benfleet train station as part of a £100,000 improvement project.
The new male, female and disabled toilets provide passengers with modern facilities, and include space for baby changing.
They are also equipped with low-energy lighting, and heating controlled by a thermostat.
Train operator c2c, which manages the station, teamed up with Network Rail for the improvement scheme.
Station manager Maria Kemp said: “These brighter, cleaner and greener toilets will really improve the facilities for passengers at Benfleet station. This is a real transformation from the old toilets that used to be at the station, and it now means our customers can now be confident about using them in comfort.”
