A woman was taken to hospital after she was hit by a minibus.
The woman, in her early fifties, was struck by the minibus on Sutton Road, Southend, at the junction of Boscombe Road at about 7.55am and the East of England Ambulance service sent a rapid response vehicle, ambulance officer and an ambulance to the scene.
Police also attended the incident but, although the woman was taken to Southend for further assessment, she was not believed to have been seriously hurt.
An ambulance spokesman said: “We were called to a road traffic accident involving a bus and a pedestrian on Sutton Road, Southend, at 7.55am.
“We sent a rapid response vehicle, which arrived within two minutes, an ambulance crew, which attended in just under six minutes and an ambulance officer, who arrived in just under eight minutes.
“The patient was a woman in her early fifties, who was conscious and breathing, and the bus was travelling so slowly the passengers didn’t realise there was an impact.
“The woman was taken to Southend Hospital for further assessment and handed over to the hospital at 9.19am.”
