Southend United’s latest plans for Fossetts Farm will go on public exhibition tomorrow.

The club, which has announced a partnership with real estate firm British Land, will put its proposals for a huge stadium and retail park complex, off Eastern Avenue, out to an exhibition tomorrow and Saturday.

The display will runn from 2pm to 8pm at the Blues Lounge at Roots Hall, and then from 10am to 2pm on Saturday.

Last month, the club announced it was in advanced discussions with British Land, to fund an ambitious up scaling of the Fossetts Farm proposals.

The latest plans feature a 35 store retail park, 12 screen Cineworld cinema, ten restaurants, a 131 bed hotel, and two training domes, plus the 21,000 seater stadium itself.

The site will also contain some 240 flats in three tower blocks, all of which are connected to the stadium.

The club insists the move can happen regardless of whether previous backer Sainsbury’s buys Roots Hall.

Plans for the club to move to Fossetts Farm have repeatedly stalled despite the club being given Government approval for the new venue eight years ago.
