THURROCK bagged their third London One North win in succession, beating Chingford 31-18.

The victory moved T’s to within three points of table-topping Amersham & Chiltern.

And it also delighted their director of rugby Dean White.

“As expected Chingford were well organised and played some good rugby but we were in control of the game and played some fantastic rugby ourselves,” said White.

“Our set-piece was again very good and our backline looked dangerous all day.

“We scored some cracking tries and our defensive effort was brilliant.

“During the game there were some massive hits going in from both sides and our physicality was excellent.

“We showed again that we are a side that can adapt to what's in front of us and the players are starting to understand how to win games and close them out. “

But, despite the final score-line, it was Chingford who went in front at the weekend with two early penalties giving them a 6-0 lead.

However, T’s hit back with captain Reece Durrance scoring a try Tom Worsfold was able to convert.

Moments later, Hagen Mumba teed up Freddie Russo to score and put the home-side 12-6 in front at half-time.

After the break, James Flavin bagged another try to extend Thurrock’s lead following a great burst from prop forward Charlie Currie.

Worsfold again added the extras before the visitors got back into the game with two tries of their own.

But T’s responded well with Joss Nunn and Fraser Kidd both touching down to secure a try scoring bonus point, with Worsfold adding a conversion to complete another good afternoon for his team.
