THE family of "larger than life" Dominique Burrows who was killed in a motorbike accident have paid tribute to him.

Mr Burrows, 48, of Delaware Crescent, Shoebury, died after his red QM125 motorcycle was in collision with a Toyota in Ness Road on November 11.

His family said: "It is with great sadness that we report that Dominique Burrows loving father of four and grandfather, tragically killed on November 11.

"A well known and loved larger than life character, who fought hard for social justice and who'll be sorely missed. His family would like to be left alone to grieve in private.”

His daughter, Anna Corner, 18, has started a petition to get zigzag lines and speed bumps down the road so no other family has to go through what they have been through.

Dominique, a bus driver for First from Southend, was a keen activist for social equality.

After the crash, he was taken to Southend Hospital where he was treated for head injuries, before being transferred to the Royal London Hospital, in Whitechapel, where he later died.

A 51-year-old woman remains on police bail until February 25, 2016.

The inquest into his death was opened and adjourned today.
