A 12-year-old boy was taken to hospital after a crash involving a cyclist and a Vauxhall Corsa in Kiln Road, Thundersley.
An Essex Police said the boy suffered a head injury, however, an East of England Ambulance spokesman later confirmed a leg injury.
A police spokesman said:"Police were called by the ambulance service shortly before 8.30am on Thursday February 4 with reports of a collision involving a cyclist and a Vauxhall Corsa in Kiln Road, Thundersley.
"A 12-year-old boy was taken to hospital with a head injury."
An East of England Ambulance spokesman said; "We were called at 8.24pm to a report of a collision between one pedestrian and a car.
"We treated a child who suffered a leg injury."
An ambulance crew and rapid response vehicle attended the scene.
