SOUTHEND United manager Phil Brown wants his side to sign off from Roots Hall in style this weekend.

Blues host Bradford City in their final home game of the season.

And, with a crowd of more than 8,500 expected, Brown is keen to end a run of five games without a win.

“We want to reward the fans for their support because they have been outstanding for us again this season,” said Brown.

“I want the players to show they want to be here next year and if they do then we can win the game.”

Southend head into the clash in 13th place in League One, while Bradford sit fifth looking to cement their position in the play-offs.

However, the Bantams have been less consistent away from home and Brown is looking to add to their problems on the road.

“Bradford have won six out of six at home but have got five points from five away games, so if there’s a slight flaw that’s maybe it,” said Brown.

“But I know Phil Parkinson well and he’ll be looking to make sure of that play-off place as soon as possible.

“I think they only need one more point but Bradford have the momentum you need to get promotion.”
