"A HISTORY of land rights and protest in folk song and story," named Three Acres And A Cow, is to take place in Leigh.
The event, which connects the Norman Conquest and Peasants’ Revolt with current issues like fracking and the housing crisis, takes place on May 21 at the Fishermen's Chapel.
Part TED talk, part history lecture, part folk club sing-a-long, part poetry slam, part storytelling session, this is an event for all to hear and share as they have been shared for generations.
The evening will feature Rachel Rose Reid, Naomi Wilkins, Robin Grey and local guests Brian Denny, Crafting For Foes and Kate Waterfield.
Doors are at 6pm with a "Potluck supper", ready for a 7pm show. Guests are asked to "bring a dish".
The Fishermen's Chapel is at the Methodist Church, New Road, Leigh-on-Sea, Essex.
