A BY-ELECTION to choose the successor to a long-serving county councillor will take place on Thursday, June 9.
Bill Archibald, Labour councillor for Laindon Park and Fryerns, died last month, aged 84, after a spell of illness.
Anyone wishing to stand for election has until Thursday, May 12, to put their name forward, while voters must be registered by Monday, May 23, to take part.
Polling stations will be open from 7am until 10pm on election day.
