AN indoor children’s play area has moved to allay customer fears by issuing a public notice in today’s Echo.
It comes as an eight-year-old girl reported being traumatised as she was “strangled” by a helmet strap when she slipped on a climbing wall on Saturday, July 30.
A spokesman for The Fun Factory, in Purdeys Way, in Rochford, where the incident took place, insists it is “fully compliant” with all relevant safety regulations.
“The Fun Factory is a family run business – and family and safety are at the heart of everything we do.
“The Health and Safety Executive was informed at the earliest possible opportunity and the principle environmental officer has already visited the site and reviewed our CCTV, processes and procedures – both the equipment we use and our first aid.
“We have an excellent safety record and we are fully compliant with all necessary regulations, with procedures in place that are over and above what is required.
“We take any incident that happens at the centre very seriously and we wish to reassure our clients that we will continue to be transparent about our safety procedures and will work with the authorities to ensure that we continue to provide a clean, safe and enjoyable environment for children.”
