IT was a successful day for Beauchamps School, in Wickford after 49 per cent of students achieved A* to B grades, seven per cent up on last year.

The overall pass rate for the school’s sixth form was 99 per cent, with 21 per cent bagging A* and A grades in their subjects.

Bob Hodges, the school’s headteacher, says he was delighted with the results and also reserved praise for Cambridge bound 18-year-old Holly Parsons, who will be heading off to study Japanese

He said: “The majority of students got into their first and second choice of university and many of our performers are off to the some of the best universities in the country. Others have secured apprenticeships and their dream jobs.

“Congratulations to all our successful students who have worked so hard over the years. "Also thanks to the staff for their efforts and inspiration and to the parents for their continued support.”
