A MAN has died after he was found seriously injured in a road in Westcliff.

Police officers and paramedics swarmed to the scene in London Road shortly after 7pm yesterday after a member of the public came across a man collapsed in the street and raised the alarm.

Sadly, despite the best efforts of ambulance crews, the man in his 30s was pronounced dead at the scene.

Passers-by reported a heavy presence of emergency services in the street by about 8.30pm.

An Essex Police spokesman said the death was currently being treated as unexplained but there were no suspicious circumstances.

He said: "Police were contacted by the ambulance service just after 7pm on Saturday, August 20, with reports of a man found injured outside a property in London Road, Westcliff.

"The local man, aged in his 30s, was sadly pronounced death at the scene.

"His death is being treated as unexplained, however there are not believed to be any suspicious circumstances and a file will be provided to the coroner in due course."

Police would not confirm what injuries the man suffered and an ambulance spokesman could not be reached for comment.
