CHELMSFORD City head to Oxford City on Saturday determined to bounce back from their 1-0 defeat to league leaders Maidstone United.
The National League South top dogs took the lead in the 51st minute with the only goal of the game.
Dave Tarpey scored the winner at York Road to inflict a second league defeat on the Clarets and make it four wins from five for Alan Devonshire’s Magpies.
Rod Stringers’ Chelmsford will be hoping to get their second win of the season at Oxford.
Their hosts drew 2-2 with City’s Essex derby rivals Concord Rangers at the weekend on the back of three defeats.
The Beach Boys raced into a two-goal lead before Reece Fleet and Louie Soares levelled the score.
Chelmsford are 14th in the table with five points and Oxford a point and four places adrift of their visitors.
