A BOY has been airlifted to hospital after being in collision with a bus.
The pedestrian, an 11-year-old boy, was taken to the Royal London Hospital with leg and pelvis injuries.
A spokesman from the police said: "Police were called at about 5.20pm on Friday with reports of a road traffic collision in Runwell Road, Wickford, involving a pedestrian and a bus.
"The road was closed while emergency services including an air ambulance were on scene.
"It was reopened shortly after 7.10pm.
"Enquiries are ongoing and witnesses are asked to contact Pc Gavin Freeman on 101."
The air ambulance was seen landing at nearby Wickford Memorial Park at about 5pm.
