FOLLOWING months of hard work by the President and committee members of the Women’s Institute, based in West Street Rochford, roof renovations at their hall are finally complete.

The Vice Chairman of Rochford District Council, Lesley Butcher, joined Rochford Women’s Institute volunteers to celebrate the completion of the work at the WI Hall.

The renovations were possible due to the hard work of the club with some donations from the members to raise all of the funds required to complete the extensive restoration.

During the opening ceremony for the celebrations, the President of Rochford Women’s Institute, Deborah Casey, thanked WI members for their help, generosity and support in achieving the completion of the restoration.

She added: “Some residents believe that our hall is only for the use of the WI and not for others.

"The door is always open and can be used for all. Everybody is welcome."

Lesley Butcher, Vice Chairman of Rochford District Council, added: “The WI Hall is an historic building in Rochford and I would like to thank everyone who contributed to this renovation ensuring the building has a longer life for the use of Rochford residents’."
