A WOMAN has been arrested after a car ploughed into an insurance brokers following a police chase.
The incident saw a blue BMW crash into C+S Insurance. in Haven Road, on Canvey at about 3pm this afternoon.
Police arrested a 23 year-old driver, on suspicion of taking a vehicle without consent, she remains in custody.
An ambulance crew was called, but thankfully no-one required treatment at the scene and the rapid response vehicle left shortly after arriving.
An Essex Police spokeswoman confirmed the car was involved as part of a pursuit moments earlier.
She said: "Officers tried to stop a blue BMW that was driving in Canvey Way.
"The vehicle failed to stop and was then in collision with the building.
"A 23-year-old woman from Canvey was arrested at the scene on suspicion of taking a vehicle without consent. She is in custody.
"Enquiries are continuing to locate the other occupant of the car."
