A WOMAN was left with bloody gashes to her eyelid after she was attacked with a stiletto heel during a night out.

The 28-year-old was with friends at Festival Leisure Park, Basildon, when she was brutally assaulted by another reveller.

She was hit over the head three times with the heeled shoe after an argument broke out.

The victim was taken to Basildon Hospital for treatment to two gaping wounds.

PC Marek Jaworski, from Basildon’s community policing team, said the incident was being treated as grievous bodily harm.

He said: “The victim was hit to the side of the face three times with a stiletto.

“She suffered two cuts to her right eyelid that had to be glued shut.

“She also suffered swelling to her face

“The incident has been linked to the Unit 7 nightclub but we don’t have any more details than that.

“Eyewitnesses reported seeing an argument between some women, who had been in there.”

He appealed for more witnesses to come forward to help with the investigation.

No arrests have been made yet.

Mr Jaworski added: “We hope that there were quite a few witnesses because it would have been very busy.

“It’s not a rare thing to see a fight in a club but we hope that this will stick in people’s minds and we would urge witnesses to come forward.”

The ambulance service was called to the Festival Leisure Park multiple times on Sunday, September 18, but it is not thought paramedics transported the victim, from Basildon, to hospital.

Unit 7, which features three separate rooms of music and a Caribbean-inspired rooftop bar, opened in November following a £3million revamp, replacing the former Sky Bar.

Former nightclubs Liquid, Envy, New York, New York, and JJ’s all closed at the beginning of 2015 to make way for new restaurants and a soft play centre.
