A TEENAGE girl was left shocked and shaken after she was followed by a man in a car in Corringham.

The 13-year-old was walking in Gordon Road at about 8.20am on Wednesday when a man driving a black Ford Fiesta pulled up next to her.

He asked her to get in the car and then continued to follow her after she crossed the road to get away from him.

He then drove off and was seen to turn left into Springhouse Road.

Investigating officer PC Ashleigh Watkinson said: "The victim was left shaken by what happened and I’d urge anyone who saw what happened to get in touch.

"The man was described as white, around 40 years of age, of large build, bald and had a dark beard. He was driving an old style black Ford Fiesta which was possibly 07 plate.”

Anyone with information is asked to contact PC Ashleigh Watkinson in Grays on 101.
