THE skies of south Essex will be lit up this weekend by a series of firework displays.
For anyone wanting to get out and attend an organised display, there are a wealth of options.
Here is a rundown of some of the events taking place:
BASILDON
Organised by Basildon Round Table, this year's display takes place at Basildon Sport and Leisure Club (Selex), in Gardiners Way.
The special guest at the event is Che Chesterman, who was a finalist in last year's X Factor.
Gates open at 5.30pm on Friday and the display is due to start at 7.15pm.
Tickets are £5 in advance, from the red and white tent opposite Metro Bank in Basildon town centre, or £7 on the gate.
The event includes a licensed bar, new caterers, new funfair, novelties and a sweet stall.

SOUTHEND
The Big Beach Bang takes place at Shoebury East Beach on Saturday evening.
Gates open at 5.45pm and the display starts at 7.45pm.
Parking at the beach is free, but limited, so visitors are advised to arrive early.

BILLERICAY
Thousands of people will descend on Lake Meadows park for the annual Billericay display, which attracts visitors from Essex and beyond.
The event features live entertainment, bonfire, fairground rides, food, coffee outlets and a mulled wine and mulled cider tent.
Gates open at 5.30pm, with a kid's display at 6pm and the main display at 8pm.

CANVEY
The Castle Point display takes place on Saturday at Waterside Farm Showground, in Somnes Avenue, Canvey.
Gates open at 6pm and the display starts at 7.30pm.
Tickets are available for £3 in advance from Waterside Farm Leisure Centre or Runnymede Swimming Pool, and can also be bought on the gate on the night.
