Van burst into flames suddenly in blaze on residential street
POLICE and firefighters are investigating how a van suddenly burst into flames in a Wickford street.
Fire crews were called to Mersea Crescent at 6.50am yesterday after reports that a vehicle was fully alight.
A neighbour managed to capture images of the van ablaze.
A spokesman for the fire service said: “We sent one crew from Wickford to the scene and extinguished the fire by 7.12am. Crews will now be carrying out an investigation into the cause of the fire.”
By the time crews managed to put out the blaze, the van was completely destroyed.
