PARISH and town councils came together at a special summit to discuss working more closely together.

Hosted by Rochford District Council, the programme focuses on issues which will affect all of the authorities and was opened by the Chairman of Rochford Council, Carole Weston who stressed the importance of joined up thinking.

The Alzheimer’s Society were also there promoting the Dementia Action Alliance initiative.

Community exhibitors were on hand to provide information and advice, including Provide, Rochford Extended Services and the Community and Housing team at Rochford Council.

The day also involved workshops on issues relating to planning enforcement, unauthorised encampments on council land, youth engagement and the Community Agents Service, which enables better communication.
