VOLUNTEERS for Southend Carnival, both past and present, are being sought to help piece together an exhibition on the history of the event.
The project, called Volunteering-on-Sea, aims to collect the oral histories of those who have been involved with the carnival in the past in order to piece together its history throughout time.
This will then create an exhibition which will travel across Southend showing the journey of volunteer experiences over the last 125 years, in celebration of the town’s heritage.
The Volunteering-on-Sea team will be at The Gleneagles Guesthouse, Clifftown Parade on Monday March 14 from 4.30pm to 6.30pm to collect memories of those who have volunteered.
