MARK Raymond, 37, of Passingham Avenue, Billericay, has been ordered to abide by an electronically-tagged curfew after admitting stealing a games console from a Basildon home.

He admitted stealing a Wii games console, Wii games and accessories, worth £400, between October 1 last year and January 14.

Magistrates ordered him to abide by a curfew for four weeks and to have treatment for drug dependency for six months.

He was also ordered to take part in the thinking skills programme and to pay £400 compensation.

WAYNE Lavender, 41, of no fixed abode, admitted stealing bottles of fragrance worth £142 from Debenhams in Basildon.

The theft occurred between January 15 and 16.

Magistrates jailed him for four weeks and ordered him to pay £48 compensation.

ANGEL Plummer, 18, of Bulwark Road, Shoebury, was given a 12 month conditional discharge for using abusive or threatening behaviour.

The incident happened in Southend on September 25.

She admitted the offence and was ordered to pay £50 in compensation.

MARK Hyam, 60, of Hardys Way, Canvey, was fined £180 for speeding.

He was caught driving along the A12 at Kelvedon at 82mph, exceeding the 70mph speed limit.

Magistrates also ordered him to pay a £30 victim surcharge and £90 court costs.

GARY Williams, 48, of Biscay, Southend, was fined £180 after he admitted stealing a jacket.

Williams took the Freedom Trail jacket from another man in Leigh on November 21.

Southend Magistrates’ Court also ordered him to pay £85 costs and a £30 victim surcharge.
