DETECTIVES investigating the sexual assault of a woman have released a CCTV image of a man they would like to trace in connection with the investigation.

The victim, a woman in her 20s, had been enjoying a night out with friends at Basildon’s Festival Leisure Park on June 19, 2016 when the incident happened.

She and her friends later continued their evening in Thurrock and it was at a property there that the victim was sexually assaulted.

Since the incident, specialist detectives have carried out extensive enquiries – including trawling CCTV of the area and travelling up and down the country to interview various witnesses - to locate the man responsible whilst supporting the victim.

Detectives are now releasing an image of a man they would like to speak to.

The man, who is pictured at Basildon’s Festival Leisure Park, is described as black, wearing a light blue shirt with a white collar and white logo, black trousers/jeans, dark tan coloured shoes and a gold watch on his left wrist.
