SALONS from across south Essex were in for a special treat when the world’s leading hair stylists and colourists popped by to give out new tips.

Hosted at Jet Academy, in Crompton Close, Basildon, hairdressers gathered to watch demonstrations and share advice.

The event was put on by Alan Howard, a trade supplier for the hairdressing and beauty industry. It was designed to bring together all the salons that buy products in the area.

The leading hair stylists and colourists including Tracy Hayes, Dean Bradwell and Ross Johnstone - who gave demonstrations on cutting and colouring techniques.

Claire Turner, from Alan Howard, said the evening was a great success.

She said: “It was really nice to get all the salons together for an educational and fun evening.

“We also launched some new colours recently and got the chance to showcase them.

“It was also nice to meet everyone from all the salons. We must have had more than 70 people there from different salons including Southend, Basildon, Chelmsford and the surrounding areas.

“There were hair demonstrations and we had hair model Gemma Stone there as well as two other local hair models.

“It was a really good night and there was also food and drinks for everyone.”
