SCHOOLS have warned parents to be vigilant after a man allegedly exposed himself.

Northlands Primary School, in Winifred Road, Pitsea, send out text message to parents after the alleged incident was reported yesterday morning.

It is not known who the man exposed himself to.

The school got in touch with nearby Briscoe Primary School, in Felmores End, which has since issues a similar warning.

Cass Hawthorn Gregory, 25, has two children at Briscoe Primary.

She said: “I am really annoyed. Not with the school, of course, but with the fact that I got a similar text message less than a month ago.

“I’m furious that someone has done this so close to two schools. It’s bang out of order.

“This is the last thing my two boys need to see.”

The text message from Northlands Primary School reads: “Due to an incident in the local area would parents please make sure their children have an adult accompanying them home this afternoon. Thank you.”

The mother of a boy at the school, who does not want to be named, called on staff to release more details.

She said: “This is not the first text I have had about situations like this.

“I just wish the school would be honest and say that there is a man exposing himself so as a parent we are aware of exactly what has happened.

“It always is a worry, but it is more worrying that it’s becoming more often.”

This is not the first time Briscoe Primary School has been placed on alert.

On Friday, March 3 a man was seen exposing himself close to the school grounds.

No children witnessed the indecent exposure. The man fled the scene before police arrived.

It is not yet known if police are linking the two incidents.

The Echo contacted Northlands Primary School for comment but did not receive a response before going to print.

Briscoe Primary School confirmed a text message has been sent to parents after the incident was reports by staff at Northlands.

Anyone with information about the indecent exposure can call Essex Police on 101.
