THREE people were hit by a vehicle after a fight broke out outside a nightclub.


Essex Police received calls about a fight between a around 20 people outside the Sugar Hut night club, in Brentwood High Street at 3.10am today.

Two men and one woman were then struck by a vehicle, which drove away from the scene.

They have all been taken to hospital, two with serious injuries. 

All the victims are believed to be making improvements from their injuries, which are not believed to be life threatening.


Det Ch Insp Stephen Jennings, of the Essex and Kent Serious Crime Directorate, said: "We would like to speak to anyone who was inside the Sugar Hut during the evening but outside between 2.30am and 3.30am this morning. The incident happened as hundreds of people left night time establishment to go home. 

"We are reviewing CCTV and we are particularly keen to talk to anyone who was filming outside during the disturbance. We are also patrolling and engaging with people in the High Street to provide reassurance and seek out any additional information which may support our investigations.

"This incident is being treated as an isolated incident and we don’t believe there is any risk to the wider public. We would urge members of public to go about the daily business as usual.”
