YOUNGSTERS got into the spirit of Easter with a day of themed activities at Leigh Community Centre.

The fully-booked arts and crafts event was organised by the Arts Ministry to give youngsters and their families a chance to try their hands at different activities on offer at the centre, in Elm Road.

Abbie Cotterell, from Leigh Town Council, helped organise the event. She said: “The event was fully booked, with 50 children taking part.

“It was organised by the Arts Ministry and the children made lots of different Easter-themed crafts.

“They made little sheep mobiles and daffodils out of paper and pipe cleaners too.

“They also made little eggs out of paper which folded into chicks.

“There were lots of happy faces.

“All of the kids were running around between the seven activity tables having a good time.

“All of the children really enjoyed themselves.

“We had a few emails from parents saying how good the event was which is nice.

“I think some of the adults enjoyed it more than the children!

“They were all getting hands on and taking part as well which was lovely to see.”

The arts and crafts sessions are held every half term by the Arts Ministry. All of the money raised during the events goes back to support the charity.
