Heavy traffic clogged up the A129 Southend Road London bound this morning (April 22) after a vehicle crashed into an electricity pole.

The accident is believed to have happened at the junction of Southend Road and Mount Road.

PC Ian Risden tweeted from the scene to advise that the road was closed while they waited for recovery vehicles to clear the site.

He has also reminded drivers to be mindful of the wet conditions out on the roads today.

No one was injured in the crash and motorists were advised to avoid the area while the incident was ongoing.

The road was cleared by 12.45pm.
